Most of the hair a baby is born with is lost in the first 6 months of life. Even little ones born with an entire head of hair can go bald in a matter of weeks. But don't worry, it grows back. Your baby's hair falls out because of hormone changes in their body. Newborns are born with varying amounts of hair. The baby hair of many newborns falls out during the first 6 months of life. Hair loss peaks at 3 months old. The mother may also lose some of her hair at this time.  It usually disappears by 36 to 40 weeks of gestation, which explains why babies born early are especially likely to have it. Rest assured that the hair will fall out on its own by the time your baby is 4 months old. If it lasts beyond that though, talk to your pediatrician. Whether your baby is born with hair or without hair, know that it's perfectly normal for infants to have problems with hair growth or experience hair loss after delivery. In most cases, hair growth will occur within the first 6 to 12 months.  Hair loss in newborns is very common, and nothing to worry about. Most hair loss in babies is caused by hormone changes after birth. Sometimes babies get bald patches from being in the same position repeatedly, but their hair will usually grow back by their first birthday. Soft bristles massage your baby's scalp and help encourage blood flow. The soft bristles help brush off any loose skin and increase circulation to the follicles. Just like scalp massage in adults, this can encourage healthy hair growth. Mom passes down all (or mostly) straight genes, and dad does the same with his curly genes—your son, therefore, has an even split. Both parents somewhere in the middle – This middle-ground will create the widest variation in your kid's hair type. As far as the baby's hair texture, babies will have the hair texture of their father. If he has straight or wavy hair, then his daughter is likely to do so too. If dad has curly hair, then there's a greater chance that his daughter will probably have it also.   Hair oil that are best for babies and infants: Himalaya Baby Hair Oil.  Mother Sparsh Ayurvedic Baby Hair Oil. Some babies are born with a full head of hair and then lose much of it in the first six months (though some never do). Some babies are born bald and their hair comes in later. And many babies fall somewhere in between. You should also remember that babies, and especially newborns, will regulate their temperature through their heads. As a result, removing hair from your baby's head at such a young age could put them at risk for a loss in body heat, which may lead to illness, particularly in colder weather.
