Newborn baby weight

Infants often experience a rapid initial weight gain followed by a gradual decrease. During the initial months, babies typically put on approximately 1 ounce (28 grams) of weight per day. This rate decreases to around 20 grams per day at approximately 4 months of age. By the time they reach 6 months, a significant number of babies are gaining around 10 grams or even fewer each day.
