It happens as your baby develops a healthy attachment to familiar people – like you. Strangers may cause them to cry, fuss, go very quiet, look fearful or hide because babies prefer familiar adults. Usually, stranger phobia begins at 4-5 months old and becomes more intense at 7-10 months.
