We provide full day quality childcare for infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a clean, stimulating, creative environment. We also provide half day preschool options. Our small group sizes and low teacher ratio are exceptional in the Highland Park area of Saint Paul. Our daycare center also has specialized programming such as yoga and spanish. The Little School has met children's individual needs since 1984 with experienced professional teachers.

The Little School began in a church basement in 1984. We purchased and renovated our current location on Ford Parkway. in 2000. We have maintained our low ratios and have created an environment that feels like both home and school. Our small size of 21 preschoolers, 8 toddlers and 3 infants provides closer relationships for our staff, children and their families.

Amma Parenting Center is comprehensive education for expecting and new parents. We offer a full menu of (virtual) and in person prenatal classes, new parent classes, mom and baby groups, breastfeeding support, and a series of workshops on topics of interest to parents. Our birth and baby preparation classes are open to parents delivering at all all hospitals in the Country.

Amma Parenting Center was started over 13 years ago by a certified nurse-midwife and lactation consultant who recognized the need both for an updated childbirth education experience as well as support and community for new parents. Today, Amma has expanded and partners with hospitals as a preferred childbirth education provider, and offers classes across the US via online interactive virtual and in person classrooms in Minnesota. The menu of both prenatal and new parent classes is medically vetted and expertly delivered by professionals. At the heart of Amma remains the New Mama Class, which hosts more than thousands of new moms a year.

The RIE approach is considered best practice in infant/toddler care and has been made popular by RIE Parenting blogger Janet Lansbury. Our infant/toddler parenting classes include: RIE Before Baby (a newborn care class for expecting parents), and RIE Parent-infant classes (a playgroup) for parents with their babies or toddlers. Using the RIE Educaring approach developed by Magda Gerber, you will learn to observe and understand your baby's cues so you can respond in a way that builds security and trust. You'll recognize their strengths and capabilities and learn how to support their ongoing growth in all areas -- gross and fine motor, cognitive and social/emotional as well as attitudes toward living and learning.
