VenusGirl Photography specializes in maternity, newborn, child and family photography. I schedule sessions by appointment only. For newborns, sessions are held up to 3 weeks old, either in the Oakland studio or in your home. For kids and maternity, I love creating lasting memories through stylized portraits outdoors, where you can all be yourselves and enjoy the beauty of the Bay Area. Memories like pregnancy, newborn portraits and one year old photography sessions are everlasting - and I’d love to capture these incredibly special times with you!

Heather Barlin grew up in the suburbs of New York, observing nature's wondrous beauty and the city's varying faces. Heather attended New York University and was a nanny throughout her university years, where she developed her knack with children. After graduating Cum Laude from Tisch's Film and Video program and working with several world-renowned commercial photographers, she relocated to California and Venusgirl Photography was born. Heather is currently residing in the Bay Area and specializes in child photography, pregnancy portraits and newborn portraits, both in natural settings and studio.
