It can be hard being a single parent. You might feel overwhelmed, tired and stressed out since there's no one to help you with things like cooking dinner or getting the kids' clothes ready for school. For all you single-parent thriving out there, here are some tips:         Organize your finances and keep them up to date A budget is essential to getting ahead financially as a single parent. Learn how to create a budget that works for you and your family. Start by budgeting. Financial planning begins with a strict yet reasonable budget. Start by taking an inventory of your finances. Find out how much money you have and what you have spent it on.    Stay organized The easiest way to get into a routine is to declutter your home. Establish a routine. You're more likely to have happy children if they know what to expect. Plan a time when you can be focused and map out everything. Secondly, decide what areas of your life need organizing.   Make a plan and set a goal When you're a single mom, setting goals is a great way to get yourself back on track if you lose who you are. You don't have to make goals long and complicated. You can make goals that are easy and fun to accomplish. My goals come out at the end of every year, and I revisit them every month.   Take advantage of government programs and tax breaks Single parents with young kids have a lot of financial resources that affect their child's development, and those resources can affect how they do in adulthood. A lot of countries have social programs to help parents with young kids. These programs target specific insecurities, like food, housing, child care, or medical expenses, while others provide direct cash transfers to individuals.   Let go of the past If you forgive someone, that doesn't mean you're condoning their actions. Forgiving someone doesn't mean saying I'm okay with what they did. You're saying I'm not going to let what you did affect my life anymore. I'm letting it go. I'm gonna focus on the future, and how I deal with this situation, and what I'm going to do next. I'm gonna move on.   Make time for "ME" time You need to take care of yourself as well as setting goals. You'll be a better mom if you prioritize yourself, whether it's eating well, exercising, staying in touch with friends, getting enough rest, or even getting professional counseling if you need it.     The first step to self-compassion is to acknowledge your feelings. If you're being hard on yourself, you need to remind yourself that raising kids is hard work. It's okay to find it hard and need help. Let yourself know that you're not alone - other parents find this hard too.   Getting support from your GP is a good idea if you're having trouble being kind to yourself.   Read also: Beauty Remedies For New Moms: Tips and Tricks After Delivery How to Deal With Sleep Deprivation As A New Mom What Is Co-parenting And What Are Your Responsibilities As A Co-parent? Motherhood can be challenging for everyone, whether you’re a first-timer or an old pro. If so, you are not alone. According to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, 71 percent of women face a lot of pressure to be physically attractive besides the other pressures and responsibilities that come with being a good parent and having a successful career. It is difficult for women to feel as confident and comfortable in their own skin as they once did as a result of the changes they go through when they become mothers, whether they are for the first time, the third time, or even the fifth. Besides that, there are always spit-up stains, chocolate smears, snot runs, and so on that come with being a mom. Though you might think that hiring a housekeeper, nanny, and every caretaker in the book is necessary for being a stylish mom, it is not. While you rock your motherhood responsibilities, you can start doing some things that will help you feel more stylish and confident. Here's our tips for you!     1. Use a dry shampoo Mothers find it difficult enough to get their kids bathed on a regular basis, let alone to wash their own hair every day, so dry shampoo is their best friend. By using dry shampoo, you will feel fresh and mask the fact that you haven't washed your hair in a while, allowing you to maintain your style and keep your hairdos looking stylish without having to get in the shower, wash your hair, and wait for it to dry. 2. Finding the right clothing for you The key is to find clothing styles that flatter your body type and accentuate your assets, since every body is different. Every body is different, and every body will be different from what it was after going through the changes associated with becoming a mom. For example, if your body type is more “pear shape”, then you will be more comfortable wearing styles such as V-necks, bell sleeves, A-lines, and bootcuts. 3. Whenever in doubt, wear jeans You'll be busy all day if you are a mother, which is a full-time job. You may be tempted to throw on some sweats or grab some basketball shorts and head out the door when you have a particularly busy schedule. You may need to do that every once in a while, but it's always best to wear jeans. Even if you're going to the grocery store, jeans will make your outfit look more intentional and make you feel more stylish. 4. Accessorize With the right necklace, earrings, and jacket, even a plain t-shirt and jeans can be dressed up to look like an Instagram-worthy outfit. It doesn't matter how plain a dress may seem, the key to dressing it up is having a few staple pieces, such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets, belts, jackets, and hair pieces. 5. Learn how to perfect the 5-Minute Hairstyle Having a child keeps you busy and takes a lot of time, so you have less time to do things like your hair. However, there are a number of other five-minute hairstyles you can learn, even if you're a busy mom, that will help you shake things up and maintain your style. Ponytails and braids are great hairstyles that you can use. 6. Simplify your makeup routine There's no time to spend hours in front of the mirror applying concealer and foundation, contouring and highlighting, and getting the perfect wingtip for your eyeliner. There's always the little ones to chase after. You can still look stylish without putting in all the effort if you simplify your makeup routine instead of dropping it completely. With just tinted moisturizer, colored lip balm, mascara, and neutral colored shadow, you'll look and feel great and can finish your makeup in no time. 7. Get a manicure or pedi Although winter is the worst time to have your toes painted, there's nothing like a fresh manicure and pedicure. Even though it sounds simple, fresh nails can make a huge difference to any outfit. Plus, you're a busy mom, so you deserve some time away to make your fingers and toes sparkle—even if you do them yourself. 8. Get the right haircut Whenever you think of "the mom cut," do you think of bobs or long pixies? There's not one cut that's better for moms than another. For some moms, a low-maintenance pixie cut is perfect, but for others, it's a layer cut that's easy to bun or ponytail. You need to pick a low-maintenance haircut that's right for you and your lifestyle. Getting the right cut will keep you looking cool all day long. 9. Be you! When it comes to style and fashion, there are tons of tips and tricks out there telling you what to do and what not to do. When it comes down to it, though, it's just about you. Forget about rules about how you should dress or what you should wear. It's about what makes you feel comfortable, confident, and stylish. 10. Give yourself a chance to feel good Although style is an external expression, it begins on the inside. It is difficult to find time for yourself when you are busy and have so much to do, but taking the time to feel good on the inside will help you feel more confident. Confidence isn't just an internal thing-it can be expressed and shown on the outside as well.   Keeping yourself clean and fresh is one of the secrets to looking chic.   Read also: The 5 Best Self-Care Tips For Pregnant Women The 10 Most Effective Ways For Moms To Practice Self-Care Health And Wellbeing Tips For New Parents

Taking care of your baby is one of the most important things you'll do in your life - and you may wonder how to keep them stimulated, happy, thriving, and healthy. While it's relatively straightforward, it isn't always easy: Take care of their basic needs, give them love and attention, talk to and read to them, stimulate their senses, and have fun together. To give your baby a great start in life, you don't have to be an expert in child development. Research confirms what we've known all along: Your baby deserves love, attention, and basic care. Adding a few habits to a daily routine can be a great way for parents to raise a happy baby. We've compiled a collection of easy ways mom and dad can create an emotional environment for their baby. Here are 5 daily habits to raise a happy baby that will help him or her have a positive outlook on life. It's amazing how easy it is to do this.     Give your baby lots of love and attention Love, attention, and affection in the first years of life are proven to have a direct and measurable impact on a child's mental, physical, and emotional development. You can also help your baby's brain develop with love and touch. How can you show your love? Hug, touch, smile, encourage, speak to, listen to, and play with your baby often. The feel of physical closeness soothes babies, and they enjoy being snuggled up with you in a sling, wrap, or carrier.   Don't ignore their cries Answering your baby's cries is also important, especially in the first six months or so. Be aware of your baby's physical needs, including being hungry, too warm, or uncomfortable from a wet diaper, and take care of them as soon as possible. You can lay a positive emotional foundation by responding to your baby's cry because "crying" is the primary communication method they use to communicate. It is not wise to ignore your baby's crying because it will cause them unnecessary anxiety. You can't spoil a newborn with attention, so hold your baby, swaddle them, and show them they can rely on you for comfort, and you will raise an emotionally healthy baby.   Spend time talking to your baby It may seem silly to talk to someone who doesn't reply, but your little one is quite an avid listener and that's an easy daily habit that can help you raise a cheerful child. Talking to your baby while you diaper, feed, and bathe him or her is an effective way to develop advanced language skills. Children who receive extensive verbal stimulation from their parents as babies develop more advanced language skills than children who don't receive much. Your baby will respond better if they know you're speaking to him, so look at him while you speak.   Play with them Play with your baby and connect with them. If you're having fun with them, they're having fun too. Play can bring joy to your child, but it is also an important part of the development of their life skills. Play allows children to discover their interests as they get older - building blocks villages, making "potions" from kitchen ingredients, painting elaborate watercolors - all of which may lead them to a lifetime of interests.   Don't forget to take care of yourself If you want to raise a happy baby, take care of yourself first. You can take several steps to become a happier mother. Taking care of yourself is so important for you as a mother because it will provide you with the energy you need to face motherhood. Making time for yourself, finding a support group, and having time with your spouse are all important to keep you healthy and happy. A happy mother raises a happier child.   As infants learn language through listening to their parents, they are hard wired to bond with them. By addressing their infant's physical and emotional needs, parents can put their baby on the path to a lifetime of peace and happiness.   Read also: How To Take Care Of A Newborn Baby 5 Characteristics Of A Gifted Child That You Might Notice Why Do Parents Change Their Tone Of Voice When Talking To Their Kids

It is fathers' role to nurture and care their baby from the earliest days. This is the foundation that will last for the rest of their lives. Even before birth, babies are familiar with their father's voice for weeks. For the infant's development to be boosted and to reduce the risk of paternal postpartum depression, fathers need to interact and bond with their newborn. Almost from birth, moms are encouraged to spend as much time as possible with their babies. But what about the other parent? Do babies miss dad’s presence when he’s not around? The answer is, yes! Fathers should spend at least one hour every day with their children, not only talking, but simply being present. In most infants, between 3 and 7 months, they make up their minds about their primary attachment figure. During this time, the infant will focus on the person who gets things right the most and is there for them the most often when they need them. For newborns, it's normal for them to prefer their mom over their dad because apart from spending 9 months in their mother's tummy, newborns rely on their mothers for care and nutrition.     According to Dr. Laible, babies recognize their parents' voices and smells right from birth. What follows is them linking those sounds and smells with something they can see. That is why they study your face as if they were trying to remember it. As early as 4 days old, babies can recognize their parents' faces. By paying attention to your baby during feeding times, cuddle sessions, and throughout the day, you teach him or her to trust you. Research shows that a father's involvement in a child's life, especially an engaged father, has a direct impact on their growth and development. Having an uninvolved parent can lead to children with low self-esteem or emotional neediness in other relationships as a result of a lack of affection and attention. Parents are equally important, and both are vital to their children. The most important thing is that both parents show up and stay involved. Both parents are indispensable and incredibly important to their children throughout life. Relationships and people involved play a big part in determining its true extent. Fathers play a crucial role in the development of children, a role that is not redundant when compared with motherhood. Children whose fathers are involved in their health and development are less likely to experience depression, behavioral problems, and teenage pregnancy, according to experts. Several studies indicate that active father involvement makes babies feel secure, confident, and independent.     A baby's first attachment is usually formed with their mother, but the bonds formed with their fathers are just as important. Although babies form attachment relationships with adults who care for them, the bonds formed with their parents are the most significant.   Read also: The 5 Best Daily Habits For Raising A Happy Baby Why Good Manners Should Be Taught At An Early Age 5 Simple Ways To Bond With Your Newborn Hands-On Parenting: What Is It And How Can You Be One How To Be A Great Dad To Your Son

Even though dogs can hear, smell, and see babies, they don't understand what they are, so it is surprising that dogs treat babies differently than they treat adults. While your dog may not care much for adults, you might notice that your dog seems particularly interested in babies. As your baby is still very young, you can usually keep them separated from your pets for the majority of the time. Keep your pets out of the room where your baby sleeps, and do not let them share the same bed as your baby. It is not uncommon for dogs to be jealous of babies and to behave differently after a newborn comes into your home. Dogs are highly social animals who thrive off routine and the undivided attention of their owners. A newborn can change that for them, resulting in signs of jealousy for some dogs. A new baby is one of the things that causes many dogs to behave badly when they are brought home by a new parent, and this is because they get stressed out as they undergo all the changes taking place in the house. A simple solution to this problem is to keep your dog on its regular schedule.   What to do to prepare your dog for the arrival of a new baby?   It is a good idea to place your pup's meals in a safe place. All furniture should be off-limits Invest in dog walkers and trainers. Make sure you understand your dog's body language. Slowly begin to introduce all of the new baby equipment, one piece at a time. You should train your dog not to go into the nursery (aka the room where your baby sleeps)   The dog may experience periods of depression if they go through major changes in their life. These include the move to a new home, the addition of a new baby, or the addition of another pet to the family. Even a change in the dog's schedule, for instance, when a stay-at-home owner takes on a new job, can make the dog feel depressed. When your dog growls at your baby, he is sending a clear warning that he is displeased with the baby's actions or proximity and is warning you that he is very uncomfortable. Be grateful that your dog chose to growl rather than bite at your child. As dogs do not have the ability to communicate with humans in the same way that they do with other dogs, they attempt to attract your attention by nudging or bumping into you. Generally, when a dog bumps or nudges you with his or her nose, it is because they want your attention or they want something from you.   Signs that your dog likes your baby:   Your dog searches for the baby's items. Babies receive gifts from your dog. While you're holding the baby, they want to be next to you. They are looking for your baby. Laying near your baby is their favorite pastime. The two of them play together.   What dog breed is best with babies? Golden Retriever Bulldog Poodle Labrador Retriever Bull Terrier Beagle Collie There is nothing like a dog and a child who are a match made in heaven, but it can take some time for that bond to form. Do not set expectations that magic will happen immediately. Teach or review basic commands before the baby arrives. Make sure that your dog is familiar with new gear, new routines, and new smells before the baby arrives.   Read also: 5 Tips To Childproof Your Home To Keep The Baby Safe How To Keep Baby Safe From Climbing What Makes Sibling Bonds So Special How To Deal With Your Toddler's Jealousy Towards The New Baby

For newborns, a visitation schedule should be set up so that the noncustodial parent can visit frequently, often and for a short period of time. It is more beneficial to your child to make a few short visits per week than an eight-hour visit every week. You can extend the visits as the baby grows to provide him/her with a better chance of bonding with the other parent. You need to take good care of a new baby and get to know him if you are going to have him. It takes relatively little to take care of a baby, so you should be able to do it. You need to feed them, interact with them, comfort them when they're upset, keep them clean, and make sure that they sleep in a safe, comfortable place. The pick-up and visitation times you arrange should not conflict with naps or be in the middle of a wind-down routine, so that they do not conflict with naps. Over the first two years, experts recommend that a child should not be separated from either parent for very long periods; this will ensure the child's bond with both parents grows stronger.  As a result, for most new babies, the best arrangement is to live entirely with Parent A and have frequent daytime visits with Parent B throughout the first few months of life. Once your baby gets to the age when they are a little bit more adaptable, then you can begin overnight visitation. In any case, it is well known that by the time a child reaches the age of three or four, he or she is much more adept at communicating their needs and therefore, able to express themselves more clearly. Due to this, they ought to be more equipped to spend time away from their primary caregiver, and as such spend more time with the other parent overnight. A child's maturity, along with the relationship between them and their parents, are equally important as their age when it comes to determining a child's future success. It can be observed that 7 year old kids or even 11 year old kids will handle a week on / week off schedule better than certain 11 year old children. Due to this, one blanket approach is not going to work for everyone. There is a common misconception that mothers have greater rights when it comes to child custody than fathers. However, the truth is that there are no laws in the U.S. that guarantee mothers a preference or additional rights when it comes to child custody.  Sadly, it is very common for mothers to block the father from seeing his child simply by refusing to allow him to see him at all. However, fathers do not often recognize that they have the same rights as mothers do when it comes to child contact. They have the same right to access to the child as the mother, so they have as much access as the mother does when it comes to child contact. There is no doubt that co-parenting can provide additional comfort and stability for young children after a divorce, but experts suggest that spending too much time together after a divorce can also have some potentially negative effects on children and parents.   There is nothing more important than being nice to each other in front of the child. Children hear and see what is happening, and they learn how to treat others through the actions of their parents. If parents treat each other respectfully, that will teach the child to treat others respectfully as well.   Read also: Traditional Parenting VS Modern Parenting: Which is better? Having a new baby is both magical and overwhelming, exhausting and scary at the same time. With time, parents learn to recognize and understand their baby's needs, desires, and schedules. Newborn babies need six basic things: security, clothes, sleep, food, sensory stimulation, love, and attention. Taking care of a newborn can be challenging, but it can become manageable, especially if you have the right advice. Here are the most basic newborn care that you can follow:     Feed your baby frequently, whether you're breastfeeding or using formula Within three days of birth, a mother's body usually starts producing breast milk if she is breastfeeding — the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends doing so for at least six months. In the beginning, nursing mothers may have to work hard to ensure their babies latch onto their breasts correctly, or fasten onto them, so they can eat. It's best to talk to a lactation consultant if you're having trouble latching your baby or getting him or her to eat; most hospitals and birthing centers have a certified lactation consultant. The United States Lactation Consultant Association also offers private lactation consultations. The newborn should be fed eight to 12 times in 24 hours, regardless of whether you're breastfeeding or formula feeding.   Do tummy time and bond with your baby when she is awake Whenever your baby is awake, one of the best ways to bond with her is to rest her bare-chested body on your bare chest. According to studies, infants who receive skin-to-skin contact immediately after birth are more likely to breastfeed, breastfeed longer, and have better heart and breathing responses.   Start a bedtime routine and sleep when your baby sleeps Newborns sleep a lot, but they wake up every hour or two to change. During the first few weeks, your baby probably just wakes up long enough to be fed and changed. Because your baby is going to be awake for short periods throughout the night, it will disrupt your sleep inevitably, so you should always sleep when your baby does. You should always put your baby to sleep on his back, never on his side or stomach, because that's the best way to minimize the risk of sudden infant death.   Safely bathe your baby, and don't overdo it A sponge bath is the best way to wash a baby before her umbilical cord stump falls off – usually 5 to 15 days after birth. Wrap your baby in a towel and lay her down on a soft flat surface to do that. You should wipe her face first with a clean, moist washcloth — do not use soap since it could get into her eyes or mouth — then apply some baby soap to the washcloth and gently wipe the rest of her body. After your baby's bath, wipe his body again with a clean damp washcloth. You can apply a baby moisturizer, such as petroleum jelly, to prevent dryness after the bath. Make sure you spot clean your baby every day around his mouth, neck, and groin — basically anywhere that gets dirty. Bathing once or twice a week is actually sufficient, and bathing too frequently can cause dry skin or eczema, which causes red, itchy skin.   Get some help Getting a new baby can be exciting, but it can also be exhausting and unsettling. If you're struggling, ask your partner, or other family members or friends for help. If you're tired, stressed out, ill-nourished, and emotionally impoverished, you can't care for your child well. If you have a baby, ask friends or family members to hold him, change him, take him for walks or bottle feed him.     Having quality child care helps kids develop social and learning skills at a young age. These skills help them build and maintain better relationships with their parents, adults, and other kids.   Read also: The 5 Best Self-Care Tips For Pregnant Women 10 Newborn Tips and Tricks For New Moms 5 Simple Ways To Bond With Your Newborn How To Handle Visitors After Having A Baby How to Deal With Sleep Deprivation As A New Mom

Parenting at forty isn't easy, especially for first-time parents. While certain risks may rise with age, men continue to produce sperm throughout their lives and can father healthy children until old age. From a biological standpoint, experts recommend a man is best suited to fatherhood when he is in his late 20s to early 30s. However, the quality and quantity of sperm declines with age. Despite this, men can still father children in their 50s and older. In spite of the fact that most men can have children well into their 50s and beyond, it tends to become more difficult after the age of 40. There are many reasons for this, including: Sperm quality decreases with age. There has been evidence that advanced paternal age may adversely affect a baby's risk of prematurity, low birth weight, low Apgar scores and seizures, as well as the mother's risk of gestational diabetes, according to a study of more than 40.5 million births in the United States. The world's oldest father reached 94 when he gave birth to his first child in 2010. The record was broken in 2012 when he gave birth to another son at 96.     With increasing age, a father's genome becomes progressively more mutated, increasing the risk of congenital malformations in his offspring. Genetic mutations, telomere length, and epigenetics may adversely affect the health of his offspring as they grow older. It is estimated that less than 1 percent of first-time fathers are over 50, but it is beneficial to do so. A men's health and fertility urologist, Dr Paul Turek, says that men who have children later in life tend to live longer. Their children also tend to live longer, he says. A number of studies have repeatedly found that parents' age predicts the sex of their children. Older parents have significantly higher chances of having daughters than younger parents. Children born to older fathers are more likely to have a higher I.Q. than children born to younger fathers, according to the study. As a result, kids who were raised by older parents were more focused on pursuing their interests and more self-confident. Those who gave birth after 40 had a four-fold higher chance of living to 100 years old, according to another study. It's important to note that there are plenty of other factors that contribute to living longer, regardless of when you decide to have a child.      Many people don't wring their hands over the woes of men who don't have children, whether real or imagined. However, new research suggests that men without children may feel more isolated, depressed, and angry than women without children, and that they are just as likely to regret not having children as women.   Read also: How Important Is Dad To A Newborn Baby? The modern-day parenting style, with its unique techniques, is known to be an important part of the foundation of self-esteem and self-confidence among kids. This is because modern parents are more concerned about the psychological well-being of their children as opposed to nurturing their physical abilities. As of twenty years ago, staying-at-home dads were not common. Now, we often see dads picking up children from school or participating in school activities. Equal shared parenting is an extension of co-parenting, but it divides time and responsibilities equally between the parents. Traditional parenting is inflexible and rigid. It emphasizes raising responsible and functional adults who have good manners, a sound education, and a strong work ethic. Modern parenting is flexible. Among the factors that are emphasized are nurturing, involvement, and letting children express their individuality freely. A traditional form of parenting is one in which the parents expect their children to obey authority and respect their cultural beliefs and values. This style of parenting can help children achieve higher academic results and have lower behavioral and psychological problems. Although parents of today face many challenges, they still give themselves a good grades overall for the work they are doing raising their children. The majority of parents who have children under 18 say that they have done an excellent job, and an additional 45% say that they have done a very good job. It is true that modern parenting has become influenced by the unique passions, values, and beliefs of each family to guide parenting decisions to ensure that good kid are raised while at the same time building a close bond between parents and children.    Challenges of modern-day parenting:   Maintaining a balance between work and family life. Culture-blaming Providing children with a quality education. Being afraid of saying 'no' or refusing to say it. Overloaded information It wasn't a big deal if the parents were hated in the 80's as long as their child grew up into a responsible, young adult and didn't get into trouble that would ruin his or her life as a child. Because they want to have the approval of their own children, parents today pamper and cater to their children’s every whims in order to feel that they are liked by them. While the amount of time parents spend with their children has not changed much over the years, they are spending more time doing hands-on child care today than they did in the past. It seems as if the amount of time spent on activities such as reading to children, doing crafts, taking them to lessons, attending recitals and games, and helping with homework has increased dramatically over time.     Growing up in the 80's: In those days, young kids were encouraged to go outside to play in the streets after school, and they were expected to arrive home in time for dinner. There were no watches, so when the sun went down and the street lights went on, that was our signal that our outdoor play time had come to an end. A traditional family was considered a social unit, while a modern family has developed a more individualistic outlook. As a rule, all members of a family lived in the same place during ancient times and they were bonded by common social and residential conditions which allowed them to be a part of one family. There has been a gradual deterioration of authority due to the demands of juggling personal, professional, and family obligations as well as a changing world and an increase in social isolation. As a result of today's negative behavior of their children, many parents today feel as though they have no longer been able to act and respond effectively to it. A child must have a sense of social connection, emotional stability, physical health, a varied view of interests, and at the core, a sense of holistic well-being in order to achieve and sustain their happiness.   Read also: How To Prepare Your Dog For The Arrival Of Your Newborn Baby The 10 Most Effective Ways For Moms To Practice Self-Care How To Be A Great Dad To Your Son Health And Wellbeing Tips For New Parents

Parents should try to limit the number of visitors their baby comes in close contact with on a regular basis. You may want to consider waiting two to three months before you invite family and friends to visit until your baby's immune system is stronger. Taking care of yourself and taking care of your child is the most important thing that you can do as a parent. Even if that means saying no to visitors after birth for a period of time, that is absolutely fine as you are the one in charge.   10 Ways to Say “No Visitors” After Baby:   You may want to wait a few days. If you can, have a family member stand guard for you. It is a good idea to schedule a “Meet the Baby” event. Post a Facebook post. Be sure to set clear limits for visitors. Think of ways that visitors might be able to help. Resist the urge to entertain your guests. There is nothing wrong with feeling 'off'. You don't have to tell anyone about it! Be firm!   Why should you not let other people kiss your newborn? Aside from the fact that kissing babies is potentially harmful, all individuals who have contact with babies, including parents, must avoid kissing them in order to prevent serious health problems. Considering the rise in cases of RSV and other illnesses, it is vital that everyone be aware that kissing babies can increase the risk of diseases and illnesses. In addition to this, the lungs of these babies are much smaller than those of adults, so any inflammation of the lungs is exponentially worse when the baby is smaller. RSV is spread through direct contact with respiratory droplets, so kissing, sharing drinks, or transferring things from mouth to mouth can spread it. Who should not hold a newborn? If someone is sick, they should not hold your baby. This should go without saying, but it is a fact that the presence of a sick person in the presence of your child can be fatal to them. It is forbidden for someone to cough or sneeze near your baby, much less the person who is holding them. How to tell people not to hold your baby? When you have a large group of people, make a general announcement, such as, "We can only touch the baby's feet" or "The baby needs to eat, so we'll give him some space." Parents should maintain firmness about who can or cannot hold the baby. It's common for women to feel guilty, but taking risks with a newborn is not worth it.     If you're ready to welcome visitors, it's perfectly okay to let friends and family hold your newborn infant for a short period of time. Just remember to ask them to wash their hands before they hold your baby. This is to prevent any germs from spreading to your newborn.   Read also: Hands-On Parenting: What Is It And How Can You Be One Traditional Parenting VS Modern Parenting: Which is better? The baby is placed in your arms as soon as possible after birth. Often, the baby is placed skin-to-skin on your chest while you are lying down. Some babies will be able to breastfeed right away. In the first hour or two following birth, most babies are alert and wide awake. A baby's reaction to skin-to-skin contact becomes an early language that contributes to his/her development and well-being, so it's beneficial both for you and your baby. When you keep eye contact with your baby, it facilitates meaningful communication at close range. Babies can follow moving objects with their eyes. If you feel you haven't yet bonded with your child, it's normal to take a few days, a few weeks, or even several months for you to feel that special connection. There may never be a 'wham bam' moment, but instead a slow but steady growth of love. It's important not to feel under pressure to bond or to feel a failure as a parent if you haven't bonded. Here are some ways on how to bond with your newborn:     Touch and cuddle your newborn regularly There are several ways in which bonding can help improve your baby's mental and physical development. For instance, repeated human contact, such as holding, cuddling, talking, singing and gazing into each other's eyes, stimulates the growth of your baby's brain as a result of these hormones. Respond to the crying of your child The first thing you should do in response to your child's cries is to meet her most pressing needs first. For example, if she is hungry and cold and her diaper is wet, then you should change her diaper and then you can feed her. Consider if a piece of clothing or something else is making her uncomfortable if there is a shrieking or panicked quality to her cry. Ensure that your newborn feels safe Ensure your newborn feels physically safe by providing good head and neck support while you are holding them. You can also wrap your baby in a soft cloth to replicate the feeling of being in the womb. Make sure to talk to your newborn as often as you can in a soothing, reassuring tone. Sing songs Getting to sing to your baby reinforces their bond with you and your voice. Singing makes you the first and most important voice in your baby's life, and also teaches him that you love him!  Look into your newborn's eyes when you talk to them According to research, eye contact is a very important step toward newborn brain development because it syncs your brain waves with your child's, therefore improving communication later in the child's life as an adult. Eye contact actually syncs your brain waves with your baby's.   Having the ability to soothe an infant or provide physical comfort when needed is another way to establish trust between you and your baby. Babies recognize their caregivers through sight, smell, and sound, and when any of these can provide a level of comfort to them, it is significant evidence of the establishment of a bond between you both.   Read also: 10 Newborn Tips and Tricks For New Moms How To Handle Visitors After Having A Baby How to Deal With Sleep Deprivation As A New Mom 5 Tips To Childproof Your Home To Keep The Baby Safe How To Be A Great Dad To Your Son

A child with special needs or a learning difficulty frequently has difficulties communicating. Some children require speech and language therapy for improvement, and others require greater intervention and perhaps a communication device. Physical, developmental, behavioral or emotional, and sensory impairment are the four main types of disabilities that affect children (and adults). Many types of disabilities exist, including those that occur when children are born, those that occur after birth, and those that result from injuries. It is important for children with disabilities to receive early intervention and support if they have special needs.  Autism, on the other hand, involves uneven cognitive abilities, whereas many disabilities are associated with low cognitive abilities. A study published in Pediatrics found that children with learning disabilities often experience behavior problems related to anxiety and stress as well as reduced self-confidence. Aside from aggressive behavior, social isolation and aggression were also common symptoms. A growing child facing physical disabilities faces a number of challenges. Having these disabilities can interfere with their ability to get an education, interact with peers, earn a living, and become independent of their parents, relatives, or group home arrangements.   The most common special needs in children are: ADHD Dyscalculia Hearing impairment. Anxiety Asperger's Syndrome. Oppositional defiant disorder Psychiatric Disabilities Learning Disabilities Visual Impairments Medical Disabilities   Having a disabled child may increase stress and strain parents' mental and physical health, making it difficult to find affordable, appropriate childcare, affecting their choices about work, education/training, having additional children, and receiving public assistance. What are the best ways to raise a child who has special needs? Become familiar with your child's condition. Through this, you will be able to identify possible medical complications, assist their development, and advocate on their behalf; create an independent environment; education should be encouraged; make friends with other people who are going through the same thing. Communication is one of the most common problems that children with special needs and learning disabilities have. Some require speech therapy to remedy this, and others may need more interventions and possibly some form of communication device. Special needs encompasses many different diagnoses, it is a term that is commonly used across a wide range of media. For some parents, the word disability feels like limitations have been imposed prematurely on their child because of a label. What do you call a child with special needs? Rather than 'special needs,' the National Center on Disability and Journalism recommends 'disabled' in most contexts. You should ask the person you're referring to what they prefer. Neither children nor adults with disabilities are ever referred to as children with special needs or adults with special needs. US law always refers to them as individuals with disabilities.     A special needs child can be a big challenge, but it can also be a lot of fun. If you're a parent, you should try to learn everything you can about your child's needs and challenges so they're healthy, happy, and developing. That means doing a lot of research.   Read also: 5 Characteristics Of A Gifted Child That You Might Notice Why Do Parents Change Their Tone Of Voice When Talking To Their Kids Hands-On Parenting: What Is It And How Can You Be One Tantrums In Toddlers: How To Stop And Handle Them

Good Manners are people who show respect towards the feelings and sentiments of others living in their surroundings. They never differentiate between people and treat them equally. Well-behaving individuals are characterized by modesty, humility, kindness, and courtesy. The importance of good manners is that they will teach children respect and help them to gain respect from others. Thank you shows appreciation, and please shows thoughtfulness. Manners also display gratitude instead of entitlement, which can speak volumes about a child's character. Today's fast-paced society is technologically driven, which makes it more crucial than ever to teach children manners. As parents, we have the responsibility of teaching our children social skills, how to interact politely with others, and how to treat others with respect as part of our responsibility. It is important to teach children to say "please," "thank you," "I'm sorry," and "you're welcome," welcome people with a hello, use polite table manners, ask before touching other people or things that aren't yours, keep their belongings neat, wait your turn, and admit your mistakes when you make them.     Here are some tips to teach your kids good manners every day: 1. Gratitude is important. Teach your child the importance of thanking people for gifts and other kindnesses. 2. Empathy must be visible. Understanding how others feel allows us to respond appropriately to situations. 3. Positive behavior should be praised. One of the easiest ways to reinforce your child's good behavior is to praise what they do or how they behave. 4. Let your disapproval be known and explain why.    It is important to teach children manners in order to help them learn appropriate, polite, and considerate behavior as they get older, and to become more socially appropriate in the future. Different kids mature in different ways, and at different times. As a general rule, between the ages of 3 and 5, more complex sentences, along with expected behaviour in relationships, can be taught as manners.   How do you teach kids manners? You should talk to your kids about the importance of good manners. Learn about manners in children's books. Teach your kids manners through games. Watch videos. The best way to have nice manners is to show them how.   Having good manners will teach children respect and will make them a better person. Saying thank you shows appreciation, while saying please shows thoughtfulness. Manners also convey gratitude instead of entitlement, revealing much about a child's character.  In addition to showing others that you care about them, good manners make everyone feel more comfortable in social situations. Pier Forni, a professor at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore who has written books about manners, explains that manners are like traffic lights for life.   Read also: 5 Characteristics Of A Gifted Child That You Might Notice Why Do Parents Change Their Tone Of Voice When Talking To Their Kids Hands-On Parenting: What Is It And How Can You Be One Traditional Parenting VS Modern Parenting: Which is better?

If you are picking toys for your new baby, choose those that encourage open-ended play and exploration. In the first six months of your baby's life, rattles and other grabbing toys, balls, activity gyms, and board books are excellent ways to encourage developmental milestones. Toys in your baby's room will encourage them to practice their newfound skills and explore the world on their own by practicing their newfound skills and exploring the world. It is ideal for them to play with soft blocks, squishy toys, stuffed animals that are soothing, rattles, teethers, and rattles. They will love a security blanket, a cloth book, a music bug that activates songs to stimulate your child, and a security blanket will calm your child and make them feel comfortable. Your child will discover new colors and new images by using a cloth book. A marble, coin, ball, or game with a ball that is less than 1.75 inches (4.4 centimeters) in diameter is not recommended for kids, as they can lodge in the throat above the windpipe and cause breathing problems. It is extremely important for battery-operated toys to be secured with screws so that children cannot open the battery cases. There are several things to consider when looking for toys for a 1-year-old. The first thing to recognize is that they are rapidly growing out of their baby toys, even if some (like the favorite stuffies and loveys) might still be appealing. They are gradually moving into toddler toys, but many of them are still a bit complex for them.  Aside from this, one-year-olds still have to be kept away from unsafe toys, such as the kind with small parts that could be choking hazards, or the kind that could pinch little fingers – making it difficult to buy gifts for kids this age for their birthdays or for the holidays. One-year-olds are always on the move! Typically, they are able to walk steadily and can even climb stairs. They like stories, say their first words, and can play with other children (but not yet with them). They love to experiment, but they need adults to watch over them.   Here are good toys for your one-year old! Simple board books with illustrations or photos   Ring Wooden Stacking Toy   Pretend play   Creating tools—Non-Toxic My first crayons     A New Baby Keepsake   Check Ebaby's Marketplace for all list of toys that you want to consider buying for your one-year old kid.   It's important that toys for young kids match their developmental stages and emerging abilities, as well as being safe. Many safe play materials are free ones you'll find in your house. Various “treasures” like cardboard boxes, plastic bowls, plastic bottle caps, and collections of plastic bottle caps can be used in different ways by kids of different ages. You should remember that each child develops at their own rate, as long as they are safe, can be good options for kids younger or older than the suggested age range. A 1-year-old might be a tough one, but finding a meaningful gift might be easier than you think. It's the age when the box can be more fun than the toy itself.   Read also: Hospital Bag Checklist: What To Pack For Mom, Dad and Baby Why Do Object Permanence Important In Babies? 5 Tips To Childproof Your Home To Keep The Baby Safe

A child's development and growth are crucial during childhood. It is essential for kids to consume all the nutrients (carbohydrates, fats, protein, minerals, vitamins, and water) in balanced amounts so that they can grow both mentally and physically. In the absence of any of these nutrients, they may develop deficiencies that last for years to come. The first six months of a baby's life are usually filled with breast milk or formula, so in most cases, the baby will not need much more than that. Vitamin D is an exception in that it is recommended that breastfed babies start taking vitamin D supplements very soon after birth (and some formula fed babies as well), while vitamin K is recommended that babies take as a shot at birth. A doctor may recommend additional vitamin supplements after your baby's diet changes from breast milk or formula to solid foods after 6 months as their nutritional needs increase.     The "rainbow diet" encourages kids to eat a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables to get the nutrients they need. Vitamins, if taken correctly, won't do any harm. Just don't let them take the place of a healthy diet that children need for good growth. It is recommended that all children aged six months to five years receive vitamin supplements containing vitamins A, C, and D every day. Babies who take more than 500ml of infant formula every day should not be given vitamin supplements. It is important for babies to get enough vitamin D in order to prevent Rickets. Rickets is an infection that softens your bones. Even young children who do not get enough vitamin D to meet their needs might have bowed legs as they grow, delayed crawling and walking, and soft skulls as they get older. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans and American Academy of Pediatrics recommend supplementing breastfed and partially breastfed infants beginning in the first few days of life with 400 IU per day of vitamin D in order to prevent them from developing a vitamin D deficiency.   When should vitamins and minerals be taken? What time of day do parents usually give their children vitamins? Some parents give vitamins in the afternoon and others in the morning. Some vitamins are best given in the morning on an empty stomach, while others work better with a meal to stimulate digestion. It's vital to provide children with supplements on time to ensure their supplements are absorbed properly to keep them fresh throughout the day and to sustain their hectic activities. Research suggests giving vitamins to your children after breakfast is the best time to give them vitamins. Here are three reasons why: Most parents consider breakfast to be the most important meal of the day, so they are less likely to forget about giving their children vitamins. Since vitamins aid in the body's ability to absorb nutrients from food, kids are more likely to benefit from the food they consume in the morning if they take most supplements right after eating.  To boost your child's immune system and provide sufficient energy, it's best to take Vitamin C once in the morning. Vitamin C stays in the bloodstream for only a few hours.    There are some babies who do not require vitamin supplements. When your baby starts eating solid food, he or she may get more vitamins and minerals than you think – especially if they eat fortified foods, which have vitamin A, zinc, iron, and folate added to them. Supplements helped infants who were deficient in some nutrients, but some infants received too much vitamins and minerals, according to a study conducted by the American Dietetic Association. The bottom line is, your child will get the nutrients they need best from their food. Calcium supplements and iron supplements shouldn't be taken, but if your child is a picky eater, we may not get all the vitamins they need.   Read also: How To Take Care Of A Newborn Baby 5 Characteristics Of A Gifted Child That You Might Notice Bottle Refusal: 10 Tips For Getting Your Baby To Take A Bottle Picky Eater Babies: 10 Tips For Parents To Handle Picky Eater

During pregnancy, your skin undergoes various changes, many of which typically disappear after childbirth. However, in some cases, loose skin can remain. Collagen and elastin are the main components of skin, which allow it to expand during weight gain. However, once the skin is stretched, it may not be able to return to its original state. The connective tissue between the abdominal muscles can also become thinner and weaker, resulting in a bulge in the belly commonly referred to as a "mommy pooch" or "mommy-tummy." It's recommended to aim for your pre-pregnancy weight within 6 to 12 months after giving birth. Typically, women lose about half of their baby weight by 6 weeks postpartum, with the remainder coming off gradually over the following months. While it's difficult to prevent loose skin after pregnancy, a balanced and healthy diet, along with moderate exercise during and after pregnancy, can help minimize it. Although manufacturers of home remedies and supplements claim that these products improve the appearance of loose skin, there is little scientific evidence to support these claims.   Is it possible to lose weight while breastfeeding?   Typically, mothers who exclusively breastfeed may experience a weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds per month. However, for those having difficulty shedding those extra pregnancy pounds, breastfeeding alone may not be sufficient. It's crucial to prioritize a healthy diet and regular exercise. Contrary to popular belief, breastfeeding does not burn a significant number of calories for milk production. Although some stored body fat may be utilized, the body retains some fat specifically for the purpose of breastfeeding. As a result, many women do not lose all their baby weight until they have stopped nursing completely. It's natural to gain weight gradually over a period of 9+ months during pregnancy, and it may take a similar amount of time to return to your pre-pregnancy body after delivery. However, if you notice a persistent bulge in your belly several months after childbirth, it could indicate a condition called diastasis recti, which involves separation of your abdominal muscles. Unfortunately, this post-pregnancy bulge cannot be eliminated through diet and exercise. It's important to note that Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA) is not simply a cosmetic concern. Furthermore, the process of skin tightening after pregnancy can be a gradual one. Even after you've fully recovered from childbirth, it may take several weeks or months for your skin to regain its elasticity.   What are some ways to lose weight and slim down after giving birth? Establishing achievable weight loss objectives is a crucial first step towards successful postpartum weight loss. This begins by having a realistic understanding of the typical duration required to achieve your goals Consume meals that are nutritionally balanced. Control your meal portion. Allocate time for physical activity, but gradually ease into it. Remember to prioritize self-care.     Keep in mind that it may take around a year to shed the weight gained during pregnancy. For gradual and sustained weight loss, professionals suggest a combination of balanced nutrition and regular exercise.   Read also: Beauty Remedies For New Moms: Tips and Tricks After Delivery Top 14 Breastfeeding Tips for the First 14 Days: Enhance Your Breast Milk Production with Secrets of Tea Healthy Nursing Lactation Tea The 10 Tips You Need To Be A Stylish Mom The 5 Best Self-Care Tips For Pregnant Women

Mothers and fathers tend to have good intuition and knowledge of their own children. They often know more than they think they do, and they should not be afraid of making mistakes. Children are resilient and forgiving and usually learn and grow through their mistakes. Parents tend to be just as resilient and forgiving. Herese our 5 list of Parenting Style: Balanced parenting, is a parenting style first described by scientists in the 1960s. It includes high warmth and support for your child along with appropriate monitoring and discipline. We sometimes use the words “authoritative” or “lighthouse” parenting instead of “balanced,” but they mean the same thing. A balanced parenting style works because it does three things: Your warmth, love and involvement make your teen more open to your influence.  Uninvolved parenting, sometimes referred to as neglectful parenting, is a style characterized by a lack of responsiveness to a child's needs. Uninvolved parents make few to no demands of their children and they are often indifferent, dismissive, or even completely neglectful. Uninvolved parenting is characterized by low emotional responsiveness along with a lack of supervision. Researchers have found that uninvolved parenting could make children the victims of bullying by peers or older siblings as the parents are unable to guide them. Permissive parenting, sometimes called “indulgent parenting,” is a style of child-rearing that features two key traits: being nurturing and warm (which is good for kids), and. being reluctant to impose limits (which is problematic).  Studies show that affectionate, responsive parenting fosters secure attachment relationships. It promotes psychological development, and protects children from toxic stress. However, permissive parents do not control or regulate their children's behavior. So their children are less aware of the limits of acceptable behavior. They also exhibit worse impulse control and have more behavioral problems. Permissive parents might make comments such as “I never say no to my child” or “my child chooses what they want to do.” Permissive parents struggle to set age appropriate boundaries and instead shift decision making to children. Strict parenting, in psychology, strict parents are defined as parents who place high standards and demands on their children. Strict parents teach you how to actually value the things you own by making you earn them for yourself. You learn excellent powers of persuasion. Having strict parents means you had to choose the right time, the right moment and the right mood to present any kind of argument. Because strict parents set boundaries and enforce limits, children learn self-control. These kids are less likely to succumb to peer pressure or engage in risky behavior. Strict parents are consistent with discipline, and children learn at a young age that consequences exist for inappropriate behavior. But such pressures can lead to sleep deprivation, eating disorders, anxiety, low self-esteem and poor academic performance. They tend to change their way of thinking. They stop doing anything. An overbearing parent, is someone who wants control over their kid's life and choices. Adult children of overbearing parents often endure this treatment for decades because they either feel powerless to stop it or feel that the emotional cost of doing so would be too high. People with overbearing mothers or an overbearing parent may be more likely to struggle making decisions, suffer from anxiety and have low self-esteem. Good parenting is an accumulation of actions and interactions that you have with your child. It is driven with purpose and end goals in mind. Good parenting aims to develop in children character traits like independence, self-direction, honesty, self-control, kindness, and cooperation. How did your parents raise you? What kind of parents are you? Let us know in the comment section below!

What does "hands-on" mean exactly? A hands-on “mom” is someone who spends purposeful quality time with their children. It's spending time, engaging in activities, and creating memories with them. It doesn’t matter whether you are a dad or a grandma, preschool teacher, caregiver, au pair or nanny, anyone can be a hands-on “mom”.  Having a hands-on approach to parenting always involves spending lots of time with the children. According to William Mattox Jr.'s article "The Parent Trap," Harvard University child psychiatrist Robert Cole stated that children's frenzied desire to have possessions is not only a result of the television ads they see. A recent study conducted at Columbia University found that parents who exert their parental authority by taking a "hands-on" approach to raise their children tend to have a much more positive relationship with their children, as well as a reduced risk of harming themselves with drugs and alcohol.   Ways of Hands-on Parents:   Monitoring what the kids are watching on the television: It is possible for you to monitor what your children watch with the help of the TV Parental Guidelines and V-chip. TV Parental Guidelines. Based on the movie rating system, this system has been developed to provide an age-group rating system for television shows. You can find these ratings in TV guides and local listings, as well as on the screen when viewing your cable program guide. Keeping track of what kids are doing on the internet: It is essential to have parental controls in place if you have young children using the internet. These controls are necessary to protect the cren from the many threats that can be seen online, such as predators, cybercyber criminalserbullying, and inappropriate access to the internet. Expecting their kids to tell the truth: A child must learn the importance of telling the truth, as well as the importance of being honest. It is important to remember that lying can cause damage to your relationships as well as your self-esteem. It is important to strike a balance between feeling guilty and ashamed that you are caught lying and taking responsibility for fixing it. Eating dinner together with the kids most of the time: Eating together tends to promote more sensible eating habits, which in turn helps members of the family manage their weight more easily and, in turn, makes life more comfortable. When a family sits down together and eats together, it helps them to handle the stresses of everyday life and the hassles of day-to-day existence. Requiring kids to do household chores: Chores enable children to gain valuable experience and skills that they will use in adult life to take care of themselves, their home, and their family. Whether it's preparing meals, cleaning, organizing or maintaining a garden, chores help children to gain responsibility for their lives. Regularly reviewing the kid's academic performance: Children are expected to spend much of their time on their education and need to graduate with good academic results in order to receive a good education. Children who have excellent academic skills are more likely to get employment benefits, higher income, greater self-esteem and confidence, lower anxiety and depression levels. Monitoring where their kids at after school or during weekends: After school ends up for the day, kids are usually forced to spend a lot of time inside at home. However, parents don't have to worry about this too much. Just simply monitor what your child does after school, in the evenings and on weekends. Monitoring their kids' phones: The law permits parents to track their child's phone without them knowing because they install a parental control app, such as mSpy, on the device they want to monitor. However, parents can monitor only their kids who are under the age of thirteen. The mSpy monitoring app allows you to spy on your child's online activities without them knowing. Having curfew hours for older kids: Teenagers can sometimes be forgetful and irresponsible. Curfews should be given to keep them safe and help to teach them to follow instructions in order to become more responsible and responsible adults. Teenagers should be given the opportunity to be responsible adults by being given curfews. Knowing their kid's friends and parents: PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) analyses show that students who attend schools where their parents know their children's friends, as well as their families, do better in school, have more positive attitudes toward collaboration, and feel happier and more secure at school.   A hands-on parent is one who invests time, energy, and effort into multiple aspects of the life of his or her child. Here's what it means to be one: Hands-on dads share responsibilities – He knows that leaving everything up to mom or the family since you are the breadwinner isn't a good way to raise your child.

As summer approaches, it can be difficult for mothers, especially those who are new to motherhood, to find ways to keep their young children entertained during the hot and humid months. It's not feasible to plan multiple playdates every day for three months, so it's important to find ways to make the most of summertime while also maintaining our sanity.  Ensuring that babies and young children stay cool during hot weather is crucial, as it can be especially detrimental to their health. With summer in full swing and the likelihood of heat waves, parents should take steps to keep their little ones cool. One way to do this is by dressing them in light-colored, lightweight, and breathable clothing during the summer months.  A number of doctors and child specialists suggest using a baby sunscreen, especially on days when the sun is at its strongest, to protect young children from harmful UV rays. It's important to note that children who are under six months of age should be kept out of direct sunlight and always kept in the shade. Here are some summer essentials that we suggest for your babies:   1. Sunscreen Buy here: Baby Bum Sunscreen During the summer months, sunscreen is an essential item to have. However, many sunscreens contain harmful chemicals that may not be suitable for use on a baby's delicate skin. Fortunately, there are several natural sunscreen brands available that are both safe and effective for babies.   2. Swimwears Buy here: Baby Rash Guard Set It goes without saying that swimsuits are a necessary item for summer. To prepare for the season, it's recommended to have several swimsuits for your children. A floral one-piece and two-piece rashguard set are a couple of our favorites. Additionally, we suggest checking out these matching family swimsuits that we adore.   3. Beach Canopy Buy here: Beach Canopy If you're planning to spend time at the beach, lake, big brother's soccer game, or simply having a picnic outdoors, it's important to keep your baby cool and protected from the sun. A baby beach tent is a must-have item for these occasions, as it's easy to set up and comes with a travel bag for convenience. The tent has see-through mesh that not only keeps your baby comfortable and cool but also allows you to keep a watchful eye on them.   4. Kiddie Pool Buy here: Kiddie Pool Small inflatable pools and splash pads are a great way to keep both mom and baby happy on hot summer days, and they're a must-have item on many summer checklists. Babies enjoy splashing around in the water, and the best part is that you don't have to go anywhere other than your own backyard. These items can keep your little one entertained for hours!   5. Floaties Buy here: Baby Floaties If your child is still quite young, a float activity center with a canopy or a float ring can be excellent choices. However, once your child grows a bit older, puddle jumper floaties become essential items.   6. Swim Diapers Buy here: Reusable Swim Baby Diaper When it comes to swimming, having swim diapers is a must. Although disposable swim diapers are a good option, reusable swim diapers are my personal favorite. They are available in 13 different prints and can fit sizes ranging from 24 months to 3T. Additionally, they are machine washable and feature a convenient side snap closure that makes them easy to put on and take off.   7. Baby Water Shoes Buy here: Baby Water Shoes From personal experience, I've discovered that baby feet are incredibly sensitive, even when walking around in a pool. My children used to get blisters on their feet from just walking on the pool bottom, so I started having them wear water shoes, which helped significantly. These water shoes are my top pick for little feet, while these Native Shoes are another great option due to their lightweight and easy-to-slip-on design.   8. Sunglasses Buy here: Baby Summer Sunglasses Check out these adorable baby sunglasses! This flexible and durable pair comes with a comfortable strap that ensures they stay on your baby's face. Alternatively, these flower-framed sunglasses are polarized, which can help reduce harsh glare, and they also add a fun touch to your baby's summer outfits.   9. Sun Hat Buy here: Baby Wide Brim Sun Protection Hat Don't forget to protect your little one's face from the sun! It's always a good idea to have a sun hat on hand when you're out and about in the summer. This lightweight and adjustable hat features built-in sun protection and a wide brim, making it the perfect way to shield your baby from the sun's harmful rays.   10. Swim Baby Carrier Buy here: Water Sling Baby Wrap Carrier for Summer If you have multiple children and only two hands, wearing your baby in the pool can make your life a lot easier. These baby swim wraps are perfect for doing just that! Additionally, you can use them outside the pool on those scorching hot days when you need a breathable baby carrier to wear your little one without both of you overheating.   These summer must-haves will not only make your life easier but also more fun-filled for your little ones. You only have about a dozen or so summers with your kids before they grow up and don't want to spend time with you anymore, so make the most of it by having a few (or all!) of these options available to them this summer! Head out to Ebaby's Marketplace  to find the complete list of all baby summer essentials!

Powdered milk was often given to newborns before 3 months of age. After 6 months, most babies ate beans and rice or whatever the family ate. Adult foods were broken into small bits and fed from the mother's hand. Mothers normally chose suitable food from among what the family was eating. Baby food is any soft easily consumed food other than breastmilk or infant formula that is made specifically for human babies between four and six months and two years old.  Baby food looks very different in certain parts of the world. Countries like Japan and India have different variations on the traditional porridge. Other countries like France and Kenya like to stick with simple fruits and veggies. Take a look at some foods that "babies eat around the world", below:  Spanish Babies Eat Paella A Spanish dish which is full of flavour and also provides you with some fantastic vitamins and minerals. Spanish paella is full of lovely seafood which will give baby lots of nutrients. When mealtime rolls around, Spanish children usually dig in to whatever the adults are eating. While there are some foods that seem to be kid favorites (white rice with tomato sauce, anything with pasta, and croquettes, just to name a few), Spanish kids scarf down meals that would seem downright exotic to most. Mexican Babies Eat Achiote Although less likely to be eating non-infant cereals and baby food vegetables, 6- to 11-month-old Hispanics were more likely to be eating fresh fruits, fruit-flavored drinks, baby cookies, and foods such as soups, rice, and beans that are common in many Hispanic cultures. Some of the first foods that Mexican moms feed their babies are soups, fruits (such as papaya), and avocadoes. Older tots chew on soft tortillas too. Some mamas favor sprinkling a touch of chili powder on the foods as a way to get their little picky eaters to try new foods. Chinese Babies Eat Steamed Fish China's breastfeeding rates are low for a variety of cultural and societal reasons. Long working hours, short maternity leaves, the prevalence of mothers who migrate from their villages for work and leave infants with their families and scarce nursing facilities. Chinese babies are weaned on congee, a watery rice porridge. Congee is a great base to mix with other foods, such as puréed pulses and vegetables. Chinese mums often include ginger and garlic. Some use soy sauce, although we wouldn't recommend it because it's salty. Steamed, deboned fish is abundant in China, and this healthful protein-packed meat is often prepared in a dish called congee. Congee is the rice cereal of the Asian world; it's a neutral comfort food that can be easily altered with any ingredients you have on hand. Korean Babies Eat Seaweed The majority of Koreans start baby food with purees, but in the form of rice porridges or otherwise known as juk. The practice of eating seaweed soup after giving birth is believed to date to the Goryeo Dynasty and started because people noticed whales eating seaweed after giving birth. Traditionally the soup symbolizes and honors Samsin Halmoni, a goddess who helps women through pregnancy and childbirth. Unsalted and crushed seaweed can be given to babies as soon as they start eating solid food, usually at the age of 6 months old. Seaweed is an excellent source of iodine, which helps the functioning of the thyroid gland, but it can also affect it, if consumed in larger amounts. Japanese Babies Eat Octopus In moderation and ideally after 12 months of age. Octopus is an excellent source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids. However, as you'll soon learn, Japanese babies are fed Japanese foods like rice, tofu, and dashi from an early stage. Most Japanese parents spoon-feed their babies these foods until they are able to use utensils much later. Do you know other foods that babies eat around the world aside from this list? The welcome party, it's really quite the same as the baby shower! Well, it's almost the same except it's after the birth. A welcome baby party is similar to a baby shower, but with an interesting twist. The party takes place after the baby arrives instead of before. This is a neat idea if there are lots of relatives and friends who want to visit your new arrival. Everyone can get a glimpse of the newborn and welcome her home. A Sip & See is a party held after the birth of a baby to introduce the little one to friends and family members. It's usually a more casual event than the baby shower (with new parents often hosting it themselves), and it can be a fun way to celebrate a child's arrival. A sip and see is a party, usually planned by the parents, that invites friends and family to drop by, sip on some refreshments and meet the new baby. It's a perfect opportunity to introduce the newest family addition to all of your loved ones in a single go and on your own terms.  It's completely up to the guest of honor as to who is on the invite list, but the standard is to ask all family members, close friends, and other people who have expressed a desire to meet the new baby.  Protocol and etiquette for a baby sip and see: Party is set sometime between 1-6 months after birth. No gifts requested. (But some guest would bring some anyway.) Kept the party size small. Snacks and drinks may be served. ... You can request no kids if you want to. While gifts aren't required at a sip and see, some guests may choose to bring them. If you are a guest attending a sip and see, we recommend bringing something personalized for the baby. The Sip and See party is more like an open house to celebrate the new babe rather than an organized party. So, most Sip and See parties do not have games or activities. Most have themed finger foods, beverages, and decorations to celebrate the opportunity to meet the newest family member. Wondering What Gifts You Can Give To A Baby? Here's Our List! If you are a guest and would like to greet the new parents, you can say.. “So happy for you" “Congratulations on your new arrival." “Wishing you many congratulations on your new bundle of joy.” “What a very lucky baby!" “Well done on creating a mini human being." “Really happy for you both." If you are the one hosting the party, you can send the invitation like these.. Sip-and-See. Come toast with us to welcome our baby. At our home. Twinkle, twinkle, little star. Do you know how loved you are? Join us in welcoming. the new light of our lives. Please join us for a sip-and-see. To meet our little one. For most families, these baby parties is an opportunity to get together with friends and family with an additional little bundel of joy. But some believes it's a party society makes us feel obligated to have. And if we don't, we're seen as going against the status quo. But you must also remember that it's not against the law to not have a baby party, especially if you and your partner are having financial crisis, after all the baby itself is your biggest "gift".  Read Baby On A Budget: Ways To Save Money With A New Baby You can checkout baby party dresses at our store! Cleaning your house before you give birth is kind of like the ultimate spring cleaning. You want to go from room to room, and top to bottom. Decide where your baby will sleep in the nursery. Place the crib away from items that might pose a safety hazard, such as cords for blinds. In essence, the first night at home with your newborn may be more stressful than you hope due to the fact that both you and your little one have a lot of adjustments to make together. It's perfectly normal and expected for newborns to be fussy and cry more when we try to put them down. How to clean the house before the baby comes: Declutter Dusting Vacuum Clean the Carpets Mop Hard floors Wax Furniture Wash the Windows Deep Cleaning the Bathroom   How To Prepare Your Home For A New Baby Plan a move well in advance. Batch cook before the birth.  Put together a downstairs basket.  Clear away the clutter.  Invest in smart storage.  Rethink your spaces.   Prep, cook, and freeze extra meals. Stock up on household essentials, like laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, and other cleaning tools. You should definitely wash baby's clothes, blankets and other washable items that will come in contact with their skin. It's not necessary to do it before they're born, but it's a good idea to do it before they wear them.   What Should be Pre-Washed Before Your Baby Arrives Baby clothes. Any baby accessories made of fabric. Blankets and swaddle blankets. Stuffed animals and other cloth toys. Do this around 4-6 weeks before the baby is due. This is close enough to the date so that the clothes aren't sitting for months on end collecting dust. But it isn't too close to your due date when you should be focusing on rest and preparing for birth.   What do you need in your baby's room: Cradle, crib, bassinet, or Pack 'n Play. Dresser or clothing bins. Rocking chair or glider. Toy bins. Lighting. Diaper changing table. Laundry hamper.   Most people find the first six to eight weeks to be the hardest with a new baby, and whilst people may not openly discuss many of the challenges in these early weeks of parenthood (if at all), there are a number of common hurdles you may face at this time. Slowing down and truly giving your body the chance to heal is one of the best things that you can do for yourself. So, to recap, if at all possible, avoid using the vacuum cleaner for the first 6 weeks postpartum. If you need to sweep or mop, really take it easy. How did you prepare your house before the baby arrives? Let us know in the comment section below and don't forget to drop by our Marketplace to see all the list of baby proucts you need!

A childproofed home is one that offers a safe environment for your baby to play and explore, as well as the possibility of preventing injuries from occurring. It is not an easy task to keep your baby safe from the moment she arrives home. In addition to this, keeping several steps ahead becomes even more important as your child becomes increasingly mobile. It is best to begin baby-proofing at least three months in advance of your due date, as some of the preparations that are recommended may take some time to complete. You'll need to perform a second baby-proofing sweep as soon as your baby starts crawling around 6 to 10 months in order to make sure the house is safe for a baby. A child is a naturally curious creature. This can lead to them getting into potentially dangerous situations. You may want to cover all sharp edges and corners of your furniture with bumpers or safety padding, block open outlets with furniture, or use safety plugs. Lock any drawers, doors or cupboards that are within baby's reach with a latch. If you have any blinds or curtains with looped cords, you may want to consider installing a safety tassel or cord stop in order to tuck the cords away. Even though it isn’t possible to completely childproof a home, you can take steps to protect your children as effectively as possible, even though you can’t fully do so. Here are 5 tips to childproof your home to keep the baby safe!   Keep stairs safe by using gates Buy here: Baby Gate for Stairs The use of safety stair gates in doorways and stairwells is one of the most effective ways to prevent children from becoming injured in the home and ensure that young children stay safe in the home. Installing safety stair gates in doorways and stairwells is an effective means of making the home child-safe. It is advised that parents provide their children with extra caution when they walk around stairwells, place a safety gate at the top of the stairs, or close or lock all doors that lead to stairwells.   Keep an eye out for corners Buy here: 12 Pack Soft Baby Proofing Edge and Corner Guards When it comes to babies, it is often said that they are magnets for sharp corners, so they grab corner guards for tables, chairs, and other sharp corners that are spotted. You can also get down on the floor so that you are at eye level with your baby and can look around from there. It gives you a different perspective of their home, which makes it easier to see things that your baby would be interested in.   Bathrooms should always be locked or secured Buy here: Child Safety Door Knob Cover Bathrooms are a huge area where injuries can occur. Kids can drown in small amounts of water - even just a few inches. Babies and toddlers are also usually drawn to open bathroom cabinets and play with anything that is inside, including cleaning fluids and medicines, which can be harmful. There are more than 90 deaths a year among children inside American homes because of drowning, which is why it is crucial that you lock the bathroom doors and secure the toilet cover with child-proof latches. When your toddler learns to open doors by using the doorknob, it will be harder for you to keep them out of areas they shouldn't.   Keep an eye on the electricity Buy here: Baby Proof Outlet Cover Box | Plug Covers for Electrical Outlets As of 2007, the CPSC estimates that 11 electrocution deaths per year occurred in children aged 1-19. As the baby's age approaches 15 months, he or she becomes fascinated with putting things into things and sticking things in electrical sockets, so parents should keep an eye out for tight-fitting covers on their electrical outlets that will not let their tiny fingers pull them out.   Provide a safe place for babies to play during chores Buy here: Baby Playpen Play Pens for Babies and Toddlers While parents are making dinner, it is possible that babies will crawl around the kitchen floor, which may result in potential hazards for them. You need something that will keep your child busy while you are making dinner and make sure that they remain safe and warm.   Parents who are expecting a baby might look around their house and feel totally overwhelmed by all the changes that need to be made in order to create a safe environment for their new arrival. There is a positive aspect of having a safe place for kids to be. There is no need to always say 'no' to them. Plus, they are so fast and can get into anything they shouldn't get into if you turn for a second.   Read also these related articles: How To Keep Baby Safe From Climbing Why Do Babies Need Toys To Play

Having a family is well-known as one of the best ways to make a good night's sleep a distant dream for most people, but a new study suggests that parental yawns could last for as long as six years. It is common for newborns to wake up frequently and require feeding throughout the day and night, causing mothers to adjust their sleep schedules and sleep less at night. Also, women undergo hormonal changes during their postpartum period. Sleep deprivation can worsen symptoms of postpartum depression, which affects one in eight mothers. It is also common for new mothers to develop insomnia, daytime sleepiness, anxiety, depression, and fatigue. The process of becoming a new parent involves decision-making and navigating through a variety of sleep challenges.   Here are some tips for new mothers on how to improve their sleep:   Tasks should be outsourced. You should sleep when your baby sleeps. Make use of the hospital nursery.  Discuss your sleep needs with your partner. Don't take on more responsibility. Don't worry about not hearing your baby cry. Accept the help you need.   In the postpartum period, it is recommended that new moms get at least seven hours of sleep, but while this study provides valuable insight into the importance of sleep, be patient with yourself and your baby. If you are looking for a better sleep schedule, then you should consider asking for help, sleeping when your baby sleeps, and avoiding bed sharing. New moms often have sleepless nights at first. However, if symptoms persist or if you are having difficulties functioning during the day, you may need to seek medical attention. The same is true for moms suffering from postpartum depression. These symptoms usually subside within a few weeks.   Here are some tips on how to survive the newborn stage of life:   Make a list of your go-to strategies and hang it up. Set up a routine that works for you. Ensure that everything is ready ahead of time. Take advantage of your smartphone. You should keep a record of your baby's feedings and diaper changes. Take breaks when you need to. It would be great if you could take turns or shifts with your partner.   After giving birth, your levels of estrogen and progesterone plunge precipitously, which affects your body's natural sleep-wake cycle. When your circadian rhythms are disrupted, your natural sleep-wake cycle becomes disrupted as well, causing you to be sleepier during the day and more alert at night. It is also nice to have extended family or a postpartum doula/baby nurse come over regularly to help you sleep as well as watch your baby if you're breastfeeding.  During the first few months of parenthood, sleepless nights are very common, but they do not last forever. Babies will start sleeping for longer periods at night when they reach the age of 6 months old. It is normal for newborn babies to feed once or twice during the night until they are 3 months old. After this, infants will typically feed once or twice during the night. A tired body can make it more difficult to stay motivated, which might make some mums choose to stay at home rather than venture out during the day. However, something as simple as getting out during the day can help you feel like you're not alone as well as give you something to aim for, even look forward to, on a daily basis.  It is vital that you give your body adequate time to recover. As the condition progresses, it will begin to feel stronger, but it may take some time for your energy levels to return to normal. It is important to take some time out of your routine to rest, eat well, and engage in mild exercise to help speed up your recovery. In other words, yes, you are going to sleep again. It will happen slowly over time, but one day, one morning, you will blink your well-rested eyes, all your babies will be snuggled up in their own big-kid beds, and you will wonder, "Were those sleepless nights really so awful?"   Read also these related articles: What Is Co-parenting And What Are Your Responsibilities As A Co-parent? Welcoming a new addition to your family is a momentous occasion filled with love and joy. As a parent, your top priority is ensuring the well-being of your precious baby. From the very beginning, it is crucial to lay the foundation for a healthy life. In this blog, we will explore the key aspects of promoting your baby's health, covering everything from nutrition and hygiene to regular check-ups and nurturing their emotional well-being.   Proper Nutrition and Feeding Practices: Providing your baby with proper nutrition is essential for their growth and development. Whether you choose to breastfeed or use formula, ensure that your baby receives adequate nourishment. Breast milk offers a wealth of benefits, including essential nutrients, antibodies, and a unique bond between mother and child. If you opt for formula, select a reputable brand that meets your baby's nutritional needs. As your baby grows, introduce age-appropriate solid foods gradually, focusing on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and proteins.  Make sure to have your breastfeeding cover ready when you're out in public. Buy here: Nursing Cover for Baby Breastfeeding & Pumping   Maintaining Hygiene and Safety: Babies have delicate immune systems, making it vital to maintain a clean and safe environment. Regularly wash your hands before handling your baby, and encourage others to do the same. Keep their living space tidy, paying special attention to frequently touched surfaces. Practice proper diaper changing techniques and ensure their clothes and bedding are clean. Baby-proof your home by securing sharp objects, covering electrical outlets, and installing safety gates. Maintaining good hygiene and a safe environment reduces the risk of infections and accidents, fostering a healthy start for your little one.   Buy here: Baby Healthcare and Grooming Kit                                                                                                                                                                                     Buy here: Baby Safety Kit and Baby Proofing Essentials   Regular Pediatric Check-ups and Vaccinations: Regular visits to the pediatrician are crucial for monitoring your baby's growth, development, and overall health. Schedule well-baby check-ups, allowing healthcare professionals to assess your child's milestones, address concerns, and offer guidance. Vaccinations play a significant role in safeguarding your baby against harmful diseases. Adhering to the recommended vaccination schedule protects not only your child but also the community by preventing the spread of infectious illnesses.   Promoting Emotional Well-being: A baby's emotional well-being is as important as their physical health. Create a nurturing and loving environment, offering plenty of positive interactions, cuddles, and playtime. Respond promptly to their needs, as this helps build trust and emotional security. Engage in age-appropriate activities that encourage exploration, stimulate their senses, and promote brain development. Spending quality time with your baby strengthens your bond and contributes to their overall emotional well-being.   Encouraging Healthy Sleep Habits: Adequate sleep is essential for your baby's growth and development. Establish a consistent bedtime routine to signal that it is time to wind down. Create a calm and comfortable sleep environment, free from distractions. Place your baby on their back to sleep to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). As they grow older, establish a regular nap schedule to ensure they receive sufficient rest. By encouraging healthy sleep habits, you contribute to their overall health and well-being. Buy here: Baby Shusher Sleep Miracle Soother   Nurturing your baby's health requires attention to various aspects, from nutrition and hygiene to regular check-ups and emotional well-being. By prioritizing these fundamental aspects, you provide your baby with a strong foundation for a healthy and thriving life. In an effort to beat the clock, showers are usually given four to six weeks before the baby's due date. Parents who receive gifts in advance of the birth have the advantage of knowing what additional items they'll need to buy or borrow.  The importance of personal grooming is not only limited to your child's personal life, but it also affects his social interaction. These skills will encourage personality development in your child when they reach adulthood and tackle the world. Baby grooming kits are a necessity for your baby registry, because they're one of those things you don't realize you need until you're in the throes of parenting. Here's our list of baby gift set that you can give to a newborn baby: Baby Skincare Set:  Keep your baby's skin hydrated by bathing them in warm water for only 3 to 5 minutes. Baby skin care is just as important. Having your baby play with toys is integral to their development. You can begin around the first month of age as your child becomes attuned to the world around them. When choosing toys for your new baby, stick with safe, simple objects that encourage exploration and open-ended play. Things like rattles and other grabbing toys, balls, activity gyms and board books are great for encouraging developmental milestones.Encourage their imagination with toys. As an approximate guide, try to keep the number of toys immediately available to under 4 for a premobile child, under 8 for a crawling child, and under 12 for a toddler, depending on the size of the space and number of parts to each toy. A set of stacking cups or a basket of duplo blocks counts as one toy by this rule. Shape sorters and stackers are a fun way to work on hand-eye coordination, while highchair and car toys mean baby can enjoy fun anytime.  Here's our list for baby/infant/toddler toys that you get and also buy from our store:  Baby Rattle Toys for Newborns They can help to teach babies many new skills. 2 When parents or caregivers hold a rattle up, babies might first look at the rattle with their eyes. If a parent moves the rattle from one side to the other, babies learn to visually track, or coordinate their eyes together to watch a moving toy. But be careful when buying baby rattle toys. Babies put everything in their mouths. Check when purchasing a toy rattle that it is at least 2 inches wide so it doesn't pose a choking risk. Don't buy a heavy rattle for a newborn child. Beware buying a clunky, heavy rattle for a child who does not have the strength to properly hold it. Musical Toy (ages 3 months up) Babies and toddlers who are exposed to music perform better in areas such as language development, speech, listening and reading skills. It is thought that the patterns and rhythms of music help the brain to become faster and more efficient at transmitting information. "Electronic toys that make noises or light up are extremely effective at commanding children's attention by activating their orienting reflex. This primitive reflex compels the mind to focus on novel visual or auditory stimuli," Dr. Jenny Radesky, of the University of Michigan Medical School, and Dr. Montessori Toys For Babies (6 to 12 Months) Montessori rattles are the best toys to support your baby's development in this area. These rattles are designed to initially take advantage of the reflexive grip. The first rattles come in different shapes so that the same grip will feel different depending on the size and shape of the rattle. Interactive Play Center (8 to 12 months) Somewhere between 8 and 12 months, which is about the time your baby is getting ready to stand and walk, you may consider getting him an activity center, which gives your baby a safe area in which to play. Stacks of Circles Stacking Ring Learning Toy (13-24 months) Somewhere between 13 and 15 months, your toddler may start to stack rings onto a peg instead of just removing the rings. If your toddler is not yet stacking the rings, you can play a game of back and forth. Have your child hand you the rings and then you stack them one by one. This will help develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and a sense of order. There are many benefits of stacking cups for toddlers. For young children, picking items up and putting them in place helps them learn the important skill of intentional grasp and release, as well as how to control and position their fingers. Similar to cluttered pantries or office spaces, which make it hard for adults to focus, having too many toys around the house can make it difficult for children to concentrate, learn, and develop important skills around play.  Don't forget to drop by our marketplace to see amazing deals on baby toys!

Many parents wonder if their little one is having a nightmare when he cries out at night or during sleep. Night terrors take place during the deep sleep phase. Your baby may begin crying or even screaming suddenly if for some reason this stage is disrupted. It's likely more disturbing for you. Your baby doesn't know they're making such a commotion, and it's not something they'll remember in the morning. Night terrors usually happen in kids between 4 and 12 years old, but have been reported in babies as young as 18 months. They seem to be a little more common among boys. A night terror is a common sleep disorder that happens while a child is in slow-wave sleep. This is the stage of deepest sleep during the first third of the night. During a night terror, a child may panic, scream, or make sudden movements. If this happens, stay calm, and do not wake them. All babies are born with a number of normal newborn reflexes. Moro reflex, also known as startle reflex, is one of these primitive reflex responses intended to keep baby safe. You may have noticed that your baby startles suddenly while sleeping before; this is the Moro reflex at work. You might think that the tiny twitches you see in your baby are a response to a dream. You might worry that they're some kind of seizure. But hold on, because researchers now believe that many of those twitches actually contribute to your baby's motor skills development. Since your baby doesn't dream at an early stage of brain development, it's safe to assume that babies do not have nightmares either. Nightmares stem from exposure to trauma, an overactive imagination, and the normal stresses of everyday life. Toddlers generally start having nightmares from about the age of three. According to the National Sleep Foundation, about 50% of children between the ages of three and six have nightmares, so know that you're not alone in this experience. Nightmares can also start when the child is about two years old, and reach a peak between the ages of three and six years. About one quarter of children have at least one nightmare every week. Nightmares usually occur later in the sleep cycle, between 4am and 6am. Try to be supportive and understanding. Sleep terrors differ from nightmares. The dreamer of a nightmare wakes up from the dream and may remember details, but a person who has a sleep terror episode remains asleep. Children usually don't remember anything about their sleep terrors in the morning. Many toddlers experience night terrors. They are different than nightmares and do not have a lasting effect.  During a nightmare or even a night terror, reassure your child in a soothing voice that they are safe, and if it seems to calm your child down, hold them until it's over. As they aren't aware of their surroundings, the best thing you can do is make sure they won't fall or bang into anything. Does your baby experienced night terror or nightmare? Making time for yourself may seem like a selfish act; you may think it is indulgent or self-indulgent, but it is not the case at all. Self-care is the practice of caring for health, well-being, and happiness of oneself. It is an essential component of stress relief and wellness. This is yet another example of being the best version of yourself, but with an emphasis on your health. By eating right, exercising, and taking care of your health, your body can handle stress better. And, as we have all experienced so far, motherhood is one of the most stressful things you can go through. In order to achieve self-care, there are a variety of activities that can be engaged in ranging from physical activities such as exercising and eating healthy to mental activities such as practicing mindfulness or reading a book to spiritual or social activities such as praying or going out for lunch with a friend! Here are 10 self-care techniques that I can recommend for moms out there:     Enjoy a long, relaxing bubble bath: Take some time to relax in your tub, listen to some relaxing music, and soak as long as possible. Bring a book or crossword puzzle if that's what you'd like to do. Healthy eating: Having a low salt, fat, and calorie intake is important. It's also recommended to consume foods that are low in sugar, seeds, proteins, and fiber. Furthermore, eating fruits and vegetables can help maintain good health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Exercise: You are not only able to maintain better health by eating healthy foods. You must also stay active in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Exercise is known to be effective in reducing the risk of heart disease, certain cancers and a number of other diseases. Make exercise fun: dance, swim, garden, or run. Make a To-Do list: There are many things you can do outside of your normal duties, but you might want to choose one task each day to complete outside of your normal duties. Getting things done can be a great way to maintain a sense of calm. On the other hand, if you get something off your to-do list that has been bothering you, it can free up a lot of mental energy. Get away from gadgets for a while: There is a lot of pressure that comes along with having a digital device. You might feel compelled to respond to work emails late at night or to answer social media messages right before bed, and this may be taking a bigger toll on you than you realize. It might seem that scrolling through social media, browsing the internet, and binge-watching TV is a good way to relax. However, in fact, these activities can sometimes lead to more stress than they relieve. Annual exam: The exam that will be performed by your primary care physician or an obstetrician/gynecologist will vary based on your age and other factors. It is important for you to see a doctor or an OB/GYN every year. The procedure usually consists of taking vital signs, reviewing your appearance, medication and a cervical cancer screening (pap smear) as well as discussing any questions or concerns you may have. As a result of a yearly visit, you may also be able to detect progressive diseases that are often impacting women, such as cancer and heart disease, before they reach an advanced stage. Get a pedicure: Whether you enjoy getting your nails done at home or in a salon, there's something so relaxing about soaking your feet in warm water and allowing them to dry off naturally. Make time for friends and family: Keeping a close relationship with your friends and family is one of the most important aspects of self-care. However, sometimes finding time for those relationships can be challenging, especially if the activities are not involving your kids. When you plan an outing for yourself in the future, you are giving yourself something to look forward to (which can be a very effective self-care strategy as well). You will also be able to boost your psychological well-being even further by participating in social activities. Make your bedroom a place of retreat: Your bedroom may be a source of stress if it is filled with piles of clothes and clutter that makes it harder for you to relax when you enter it. In order to take care of yourself, you should make your bedroom a place you look forward to coming home to. You should declutter your space, purchase comfortable sheets, and redo your bedroom. You may feel more relaxed if you have a cozy chair to read in or a neatly organized closet. Meditate: Whether you are new to meditation or if you are a beginner, guided meditation might be a good option. There are many apps, websites, and audio files that can guide you through the steps of meditation.  Also, it is possible to reduce your stress with many breathing exercises that can take just a few minutes to perform, so no matter what your schedule is, it is still possible to practice these. Taking a few deep cleansing breaths can do wonders for calming your mind and your body, even though they take only a few seconds to perform.     Don't forget that self-care requires you to eat a healthy diet, get seven to eight hours of sleep each night, and exercise regularly. As for maintaining your home as tidy as possible, don't expect perfection, but make sure you clean your dishes, vacuum, and do the laundry on a regular basis. In the event that you experience a great deal of anxiety or depression, schedule an appointment with your doctor. You may benefit from a referral to a mental health professional. However, if you have physical health problems, your doctor may want to first rule them out.   You may also read these related articles: 5 Ways to Practice Self-Care While Breastfeeding Health And Wellbeing Tips For New Parents 10 Ways To Get Back In Shape After Delivery Things To Avoid After Having C-section: Post C-section Care

In order to motivate your baby to explore the bottle with his or her mouth, you need to choose a time of day when he or she is happy and alert, as well as a little hungry, which will enable them to start sucking the bottle. You should try to keep things consistent with your baby from the very beginning and offer him or her the bottle at the same time every day so that they know what is coming next. According to research, almost half of babies don't have a problem accepting a bottle at one month, two months, and even three to six months of age; and the rest will accept it if you introduce it with patience and persistence for a few weeks. There are some babies who like to be bottle-fed skin-to-skin, in their preferred nursing position, if they are not being fed by the mother, so they might want to wrap the bottle in something that smells like the mother, such as her clothing or a cloth that has been used to catch dripping milk.   When a baby refuses to take a bottle, try these tips:     Try giving the baby a bottle when he isn't very hungry. Let someone else give your baby breast milk. Try different positions when feeding the baby. Change sides. Try moving around while you feed him. Make sure you hold your baby snugly and upright. Take the bottle and hold it at an angle. Have someone else offer the bottle instead of mom. Don't put the bottle directly into the baby's mouth, let her latch on herself. Give your baby a little time to adjust.   Check out Ebaby's Marketplace to find the perfect baby bottle for your baby!   Some sites recommend you wait six weeks (as that is the average time it takes to establish your milk supply), while others suggest you try earlier - just make sure that you pump milk before you give the baby any formula so that it doesn't interfere with the regular feedings. Occasionally, if you wait too long (after 6 weeks) you may find your baby is strongly against the bottle. It is best to offer the bottle 3-4 times a week and no more than once a day in order to keep your baby familiar with the artificial nipple as well as maintain a strong breastfeeding relationship between you and your baby. The transition from breast to bottle is definitely easier if you introduce a bottle at the right age. However, even if the baby is already two to three months old, it's still possible. In addition to the tips above, you can also help your baby practice with a pacifier. Using a pacifier helps babies develop and strengthen their sucking ability as they grow. When your baby refuses to drink a bottle, these are some of the most common reasons to look out for: Your baby was recently weaned and would like to continue breastfeeding. It might be that your baby isn't hungry enough to want to feed. It could be that your baby is sick, colicky, or otherwise unwell enough to not want to feed.     When a baby is successfully breastfeeding, he does not need to learn to drink from a bottle – he is not missing out on a developmental skill. Many babies skip straight from breastfeeding to a cup as early as four months old. Many babies eventually take a bottle if they need to, especially when their mom is at work the whole day. Oftentimes, when babies have been accepting the bottle for a long time and then suddenly start refusing it, the reason is that they have been associating feeding with something negative. It's a conditioned response to avoid the thing they disliked. This is known as bottle aversion.   Read more: Picky Eater Babies: 10 Tips For Parents To Handle Picky Eater Learn How To Make Homemade Baby Food For The First Time The Effects Of Using A Pacifier For Too Long
